I sing the praises of Fetlife whenever I can. They have done what no other site has been able to do, and that is create a kinky community – its not a meat market, its not a dating site. Its not creepy like Collarme, they don’t make you pay like Alt. Its free, you can meet great people, and the discussion groups are AWESOME. (I found a group for kinksters who’ve had weight loss surgery, several places for anal enthusiasts, a place to hang out and chat with other toppy women, and a place for stuck up kinky typing snobs, and I haven’t even scratched the surface.)
They’ve also given each and every one of their greeters a lovely holiday gift!
AND, they’re giving five more away. (See, part of this post is selfish. I want one. So I’m pimping it. What? Who ever said I was altruistic?)
But my selfishness aside, if you haven’t joined Fetlife yet, you bloody well should.

I have to admit that when it started earlier this year I thought it was going to be like a number of other boards. It took a few months, but once it took off, it’s been growing and has been a great place for discussions.
And I don’t feel out of place there, as I do at some other boards (because I’m not a public player). And anybody can start an interest group, which is also nice.
Kudos all around to John and the others.

I agree. Fetlife is way better than alt or bondage.com ever were, even before they got greedy and you had to pay just to message other people. I really like the people I’ve met so far, along with the fact that I know most of the people on my friends list.
The biggest surprize so far has been the number of rope orders I’ve gotten as a result of being a member of the riggers and rope sluts group.
I also want to send my encouragement and best wishes to you on your surgery and hope that you’re doing well.
